Abstract
This study investigates the effect of Nb doping on laser-cladded FeMnSiCrNi shape memory alloy coatings. Niobium-doped composite coatings were fabricated by laser cladding, and their microstructure, phase transformation behavior, shape memory recovery rate, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance were systematically characterized. The results show that the formation of Nb₃Si significantly impedes the movement of dislocations, improving the anti-wear performance and microhardness of the coating. At the optimal doping level of 5 wt% Nb, the coatings exhibit enhanced corrosion resistance with doubled charge transfer resistance values and an improved shape memory recovery rate reaching 4.38% at 5% deformation.
